Airlift Memorial
The Berlin Airlift Memorial is an official institution (instructive collection) of the German “Technische Schule der Luftwaffe” - TSLw 3 (Air Force School of Engineering 3).
The instructive collection (museum) is used:

for educational purposes with respect to all soldiers of TSLw 3, mainly for those attending TSLw 3 courses, in connection with political education referring to our more recent history; |

for public relations work and in connection with information activities of TSLw 3, for example, for school children in order to make them acquainted with the particulars of the blockade and the airlift; |
|
|
as a museum for all people interested in contemporary history; |
|
|
for the cultivation of traditions by the Bundeswehr thus keeping alive the spirit and endurance of all who participated in the gigantic airlift operation and remembering the important role of Faßberg Airbase in supporting the Western Allied squadrons in their task to preserve the free access to Berlin until 1989. |
The Bundeswehr/ Technische Schule der Luftwaffe 3 are sponsored by the „Förderverein für die Erinnerungsstätte Luftbrücke Berlin e.V.” (Sponsoring Association for the Airlift Memorial Berlin e.V.) and the „Stiftung Luftbrückendank“ (Airlift Foundation), an organization of the federal state of Berlin.
